The life expectancy at birth in Aomori Prefecture was the lowest in Japan for both males and females, and especially the life expectancy at birth of males was far below that of other prefectures and was in the lowest rank. The life expectancies at birth of males in municipalities in Aomori Prefecture were grouped in very low positions (2637-3360) out of 3361 nationwide municipalities. In the case of males in Owani Town in Aomori Prefecture, the death rate and the number of deaths from late fifties to late sixties were remarkably large.
