内容記述 | Many children suffered physical and mental damage from corporal punishment in schools. Many teachers have cognition to admit corporal punishment. I give a lecture on" educational psychology" in the university, students too have cognition to admit corporal punishment. The purpose of this research is to analyse the cognition of corporal punishment of students, who are currently study in a faculty of education of a college and potential teacher in the near future, to eradicate corporal punishment from Japanese schools where corporal punishment is still prevailing, though the corporal punishment is denounced in the Act of School Education of 1947. The findings show that many students have still suffered from aftermath of the corporal punishment which they experienced in the previous stage of education. One of the reason why the students admit corporal punishment is greatly due to a school culture, which admit corporal punishment as necessary for a tool of education, when some teacher can't communicate with children, they inflict corporal punishment. The reason for teacher's usage of corporal punishment is, presumably due to a lack of communication skills. In conclusion, developing and reinforcing communication skills of students, particularly those who study in a department of education, are crucial to eradicate corporal punishment from Japanese schools. | |||||
