| 内容記述 | 2007年12月に、本学1年次開講科目である「法律と生活」において、裁判員制度広報用映画の鑑賞とこの制度に関する解説講義を挟んで、アンケート調査を2回実施した。その目的は、裁判員制度について学生がどのように意識しているか、裁判員制度の理解が深まることでその意識がどのように変化するか、を明らかにすることである。この調査から、次の示唆が得られた。(1)制度内容の理解が進んでも裁判員への参加意欲向上には必ずしもつながらないこと。(2)制度内容の理解が多少とも深まるにつれて、裁判員制度導入による刑事裁判の今後を肯定的に評価・予測する割合は減り、否定的に評価・予測する割合が増えてくる傾向があること。 In December 2007, a survey was conducted twice as part of "Law and Life," a course open for first-year students at this university, before and after they watched a movie created to publicize the lay judge system and attended a lecture explaining the system. The purpose was to illustrate students' attitude towards the lay judge system, as well as how their attitude changes as their understanding of the system deepens. The survey results suggest the following: (1) A deepening of understanding regarding the system does not necessarily lead to improvement of the motivation to become lay judges. (2) As understanding of the system deepens to a greater or lesser extent, there is a trend where the proportion of those making positive evaluations and predictions regarding the future of the criminal trial after the introduction of lay judge system decreases, and the proportion making negative evaluations and predictions increases. |
