The purpose of this study was to grasp the current situation of smoking by university/vocational school students in prefecture A and to advance efforts to prevent smoking. The following results were found: (1) The smoking rate of female students were slightly higher than the figures from the nationwide survey; (2) 87% of smokers smoked almost every day; (3) Men tended to smoke more cigarettes per day compared to women; (4) Most students who smoked almost every day expressed a desire for effective nonsmoking guidance. Of those who did not express a desire for nonsmoking guidance, students who smoked a lesser number of cigarettes on a less frequent basis tended to think they could quit smoking by themselves, while students who smoked a higher number of cigarettes on a more frequent basis tended to have little desire to quit; (5) One in 8 students who smoke almost every day had started to smoke in grade school, and the earlier they started the more they tended to smoke; (6) Students who were heavy smokers tended to have family members who smoked, and be around cigarette smoking more often; (7) Students who were heavy smokers tended to develop the habit around junior high school age; and (8) Curiosity toward smoking and having friends who smoked tended to be the main causes for people to start smoking. |

本研究の目的は、A県内大学生及び専門学校生の喫煙の実態を把握し、これら学生における喫煙防止対策を推進していくための課題を明らかにすることである。その結果、1.女性の喫煙率が全国調査と比較し若干上回っていた。2.現在もたばこを吸っている人のおよそ87%はほとんど毎日喫煙をしていた。3.1日の喫煙本数は、女性に比べ男性の喫煙本数が多い傾向にあった。4.ほとんど毎日喫煙している人ほど効果的な禁煙方法による指導を希望していた。禁煙指導を希望しない人は、喫煙頻度が低く1日の喫煙本数が少ないほど自分でたばこをやめられると考え、喫煙頻度が高く1日の喫煙本数が多いほどたばこをやめる気がないと考えている傾向にあった。5.ほとんど毎日喫煙している人の8人に一人が学童期からたばこを吸い始め、喫煙本数が多いほど、たばこを吸
う時期が早い傾向にあった。6.喫煙頻度及び1日の喫煙本数が多いほど、家族の喫煙者率が高い傾向にあり、喫煙行動に多く触れる機会にあった。7.喫煙頻度及び1日の喫煙本数が多いほど、中学校の時期に喫煙が習慣化している傾向にあった。8.喫煙への好奇心や友人との関係性が喫煙行動につながっている傾向にあった。 |
